Nancy PadillaNancy is a fiddler and fiddle teacher from Bozeman, Montana. Her introduction to the violin was in 4th grade school orchestra, and her classical studies lasted about 9 years. In her early 20s, she heard fiddle music, fell in love with the sound, and has pursued that direction ever since. She has toured and recorded with several award-winning bands in the bluegrass and western swing genres, and currently performs with a Gypsy Jazz group. Nancy is the 2015 Montana State Open Champion, and has twice won the National Adult Fiddle Championship. She is half of the National Twin Fiddle Champion team of 2015.  Nancy has extensive experience as a judge, including several times at Weiser.

Nancy says, “I like to hear music that touches me emotionally.  I appreciate when a fiddler’s waltz is so touching it brings a tear to my eye, or when a tune makes me smile and tap my foot.  I like being able to admire a fiddler’s skill while enjoying the feeling they are conveying through their music.”
